An introduction tour to Kiryat Hamelacha's art scene. Kiryat Ha’Melacha neighborhood, located in southern Tel-Aviv, is the very heart and center of Israeli art world today. In this maze of industrial building from the 50’s, is a microcosm of fascinating a creative urban development. Here, within a radius of one Kilometer, you’ll find over 100 artist studios of active artists, 13 art galleries, vibrant street art and graffiti and three of Israel’s most substantial art collections.
We will start the tour with an overview of the area from one of the roof tops in the hood, then we will check out some of the galleries around as well the street art on the walls, we will talk about the contemporary art scene in Israel, observe what’s between street art and fine art and talk about the connections of urbanism and the creative class.
